Give Your Budget a Boost! It’s Time to Use that Stimulus Check!

If some of you still haven’t used your stimulus checks yet because you don’t know exactly how to use it for what you think is more important, here are some ideas:

A Face Lift for the House
Do some small do-it-yourself projects on your house, such as weatherizing and installing proper insulation. Save on home improvement and repair costs by using part of your stimulus check.

Aside from giving your living quarters a new look and a new lease in life, this will give your family a rare opportunity to bond. Why not divide tasks among family members and fix up the house together? As the adage goes, a family that fixes the house together, stays together (or something to this effect).

Alternatively, you can also hire someone to spruce up your house—make it visually more appealing, and cleaner. All these improvements raise the value of your house, and will contribute to savings in the long run.

Pay the Debt
The extra money can also be used to pay off or substantially reduce some of your debts, like loans and credit card payments. This is probably the most direct way of using the money, when it comes to improving your financial standing.

Start a home business

This involves a lot more effort and number-crunching than other ways to use your check, but if your family has time to explore this, this may be a viable option. You can start the business at home, and then expand from there.

Keep it in the Piggy
If you’re doing well so far, maybe the best way to use the stimulus check is by putting it in your savings. You never know when you might need your emergency fund.

Remember that it’s always a good idea to keep a part of your stimulus checks in reserve. Also, if you haven’t received your stimulus checks yet, the last day for filing tax returns is on October 15.

Why not find out if you can have more money that you can tap, aside from your stimulus check? Sign up in the box above and see what’s out there for you!
